Making the world a warmer, fuzzier place to be
The Warm Fuzzy Campaign

You can watch the footage of my time on the plinth here, as I launched
my  Warm Fuzzy Campaign, seeking to make the world a warmer,
fuzzier place to be.

Warm Fuzzies and Cold Pricklies are TA terms which describe the
ways in which we interact with other people - we can choose to give
people Warm Fuzzies (resulting in warm, fuzzy feelings) or Cold
Pricklies (which are the opposite, giving people cold, prickly feelings).

Too often in everyday life we may choose to give people Cold Pricklies,
perhaps thinking that we don't have enough Warm Fuzzies to go around,
or because we're worried about not getting a Warm Fuzzy in return.
But actually there's no limit to the number of Warm Fuzzies we have to
give - so there's no reason to ever need to give anyone a Cold Prickly!
Claude Steiner's Warm Fuzzy Tale is a fairy story which describes this
fundamental idea of Transactional Analysis in a way which will appeal
to the Child in all of us.... Read it here.

So, here's the plan - I want to spread the word about Warm Fuzzies, and
get people to ditch the Cold Pricklies for good. Simple! It's not exactly
world peace, but it's a step in the right direction...

Through these two simple principles we can gradually spread the warm, fuzzy feelings that we all enjoy experiencing, and banish the cold, prickly sensations we get when people put us down, or disregard us, or treat us badly. If we all make the effort to do this in our everyday lives - with our families, friends, colleagues, and the strangers we meet along the way - there's no reason why we can't make Cold Pricklies a thing of the past.

Step 1: Always give people Warm Fuzzies when they ask you for them

(and maybe even sometimes when they're not expecting them!)

Step 2: Always ask for Warm Fuzzies from other people whenever you
             want them
(and why wouldn't you want them?!)
